Preeti Aroon is an assistant editor at FP. She holds a master's degree in public policy from Duke University, where she was an opinion columnist and editorial page associate for The Chronicle, the university's student-run newspaper. A native of Lexington, Kentucky, Ms. Aroon was previously a copy editor and contributing columnist for the Lexington Herald-Leader, and she holds bachelor's degrees in chemical engineering and Spanish from the University of Kentucky.
David Bosco is an FP contributing writer. He is writing a book on the U.N. Security Council and is a visiting scholar at American University's School of International Service. He was senior editor at FP between 2004 and 2006. Previously, he was an attorney at the law firm of Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton with a focus on international arbitration, litigation, and antitrust matters. Between 1996 and 1998, he served as a political analyst and journalist in Bosnia and Herzegovina and as deputy director of a joint United Nations-NATO project on refugee repatriation in Sarajevo. A former Fulbright scholar, he received his law degree from Harvard Law School, a master's degree in international relations from Cambridge University, and a bachelor's degree from Harvard University. His writings have appeared in a variety of publications, including the Washington Post, Slate, the New York Times Book Review, the Los Angeles Times, the Wall Street Journal-Europe, the American Prospect, and Legal Affairs. He has provided commentary and analysis for CNN, National Public Radio, Voice of America and a variety of other outlets.
Mike Boyer is an FP contributing writer. A former senior editor at Foreign Policy, Mr. Boyer served on the legislative staff of U.S. Sen. Chuck Hagel, where he covered foreign relations. He was assistant to the candidate on Hagel's first Senate campaign in 1996, during which time he traveled extensively with the senator on the campaign trail. Mr. Boyer's writing on international affairs has appeared in National Geographic, the Boston Globe, San Francisco Chronicle, Washington Monthly, The New Republic and Weekly Standard online, and other publications. He has appeared as a commentator on television and radio, including CNN International, CBS Sunday Morning, Al Jazeera, National Public Radio, and in numerous print media outlets. A native of Omaha, Nebraska, he earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Colorado College and a master's degree in the history of international relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Christine Y. Chen is former senior editor at FP and an ongoing contributor to Passport. Prior to joining FP in 2005, she was a writer at Fortune magazine. Previously, she had served on the staff of Newsweek International. A former Fulbright scholar, she received her masters degree from the London School of Economics, and a bachelor's degree from the University of California at Berkeley. Her writings have appeared in a variety of publications, including the Washington Post, Portfolio, and the New Republic. She has provided commentary and analysis for CNN, Bloomberg, National Public Radio, and a variety of other outlets.
Travis Daub joined FP magazine in 1998. A graduate of Drake University, he holds a bachelor of arts in magazine journalism and history. Prior to joining FP, he worked as a staff writer and paginator for the Des Moines Register. Mr. Daub is a founder of both DUIN Magazine and LostBrain.com.
Alex Ely is a summer researcher at FP. A senior in government at the College of William and Mary, he spent the last semester studying national-security policy in Washington and interned at the Dershowitz Group, where he worked on strategic communications for policy issues. He studied journalism in London, and has served as an editor and writer at his school's paper, The Flat Hat.
Patrick Fitzgerald is a summer researcher at FP. He graduated in June from Stanford University, where he majored in international relations, did overseas work in Singapore and Santiago, Chile, and was editor in chief of the Stanford Daily. A native of Sacramento, he has done reporting work for The Sacramento Bee and The Davis Enterprise and spent last summer as an intern at The Hill.
James Forsyth is a former assistant editor at FP and an ongoing contributor to Passport. He now writes for The Spectator and The Business in London.
Elizabeth Glassanos joined FP in late 2006 after graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence. There she worked with Project AIDS Khmer, a non-profit organization fighting HIV/AIDS in Cambodia. Her interests include visual media and southeast Asian history. Elizabeth assists with design and illustration for the magazine, and her artwork also graces the blog as our FP Originals series.
Blake Hounshell is Web editor at FP. He arrived in Washington in 2006 after more than a year in Cairo, where he studied Arabic, missed his Steelers finally win one for the thumb, and worked for the Ibn Khaldun Center for Development Studies. Blake edits Passport and commissions Web exclusives for ForeignPolicy.com. A graduate of Yale University with a degree in political science, his interests include Middle East politics, the impact of energy use on the environment, international trade, and the digital economy. He writes an occasional column for The American Prospect, has guest-blogged for Grist and the Washington Monthly, and frequently appears on various radio programs.
Katie Hunter is a summer researcher at FP. She graduated this past May from Davidson College, where she majored in political science. She spent the past two summers working with a professor on a book entitled The U.S. and Latin America After the Cold War that will be published by Cambridge Press this August. She also received a travel grant last summer to study HIV/AIDS policy in South Africa. She enjoys cooking, traveling, running, tennis and creative writing, and has aspirations of scaling Mt. Kilimanjaro one day.
Joshua Keating is an editorial assistant at FP. He recently graduated from Oberlin College, where he majored in comparative politics. He has interned at Newsweek International, the Moscow office of the Center for Defense Information, Radio Prague, and the NPR program On the Media. He has been editor in chief of The Oberlin Review as well as the undergraduate foreign affairs journal BardPolitik.
Prerna Mankad is editorial assistant at FP. She grew up in Australia, and holds an honors degree in international relations from the University of Queensland in Brisbane. In 2006, she completed a master's degree at the University of Chicago's Committee on International Relations, where she specialized in international political economy and development, security, history, and IR theory, with a focus on South Asia.
Carolyn O'Hara is a senior editor at FP, which she joined in January 2005. A native of Petersburg, Illinois, she holds a bachelor's degree in political science and history from Columbia University and a master's degree in international relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science. In addition to her writings in the magazine, her work has appeared in a variety of publications, including The New Republic Online, the New Statesman, and the Christian Science Monitor.
Kate Palmer joined FP as an editorial intern in May 2003, becoming copy editor in July 2003, assistant editor in January 2005, and deputy managing editor in November 2006. A native of Jacksonville, Florida, she holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida, where she majored in political science and journalism. While in college, she served as foreign affairs columnist and London bureau chief for the Alligator and features editor for the University of Florida International Review. Kate is FP's internship coordinator.
Jai Singh is a former editor at FP. He is a master's degree candidate at Johns Hopkins SAIS, where he focuses on international energy and environmental issues. A graduate of Brown University with a bachelor's degree in economics, his primary interest is the interplay among energy, geopolitics, and climate change. His writing has appeared in The New Republic, Slate, the Boston Globe, the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, the San Francisco Chronicle, and the Washington Monthly.

Thomas R. Stec, webmaster, maintains FP Passport. The site is built on the Drupal content management framework. Before coming to FP in early 2005, Tom was a lead programmer in the development of LAMP based point-of-sale systems at Monolith Software Solutions.
Caitlin Wall is a spring researcher at FP. A master's candidate specializing in conflict resolution and communications at American University's School of International Service, she most recently interned at Search for Common Ground. Prior to that experience, she helped John Prendergast research his new book, Never Again, worked as a legal assistant for law firm Hughes, Hubbard, and Reed, and spent two years with the Peace Corps in Zambia. A native of New York City, she holds a bachelor’s degree in government from Skidmore College and speaks Bantu and Italian.
